Funds are awarded in the form of scholarships or bursaries to registered educational institutions such as UBC, BCIT and qualifying building envelope apprenticeship programs. The educational facilities award the funds to students according to the Foundation’s directions. Awards are typically granted in the spring of each year, depending on the educational institution.
The amount awarded each year is decided by Board of Directors based on the amount available for granting, and the competitiveness of the applicants. Individual awards typically range from $500 to $1,000.
Award Criteria:
• Registered full-time in an undergraduate or graduate program in British Columbia
• Have taken at least one building science related course or project
• High academic performance
• Showed interest in participating in BCBEC’s knowledge transfer activities such as attending luncheon seminars, workshops.
Please note that the awards are given on competitive basis, and each educational institute may have other requirements in addition to the basic criteria listed above.
Award Nomination:
Since different institutions have different award nomination procedures, interested students are encouraged to contact their respective institutions for specific guidance on how to be nominated for the award.
