Why do wood-frame buildings stand up in earthquakes? What makes some fall? How do the Part 9 prescriptive provisions for lateral load resistance help ensure that your building will resist the next seismic event? These questions and many more will be answered in this three-hour webinar led by a team of experts.
Learn about BC Building Code’s (BCBC) 9.23.13 lateral provisions in detail; from braced wall bands, braced wall panels, anchorage to nailing provisions. Background information on the provisions will be described in depth. Get a glimpse of the upcoming WoodWorks® software that’s designed to show how to comply with BCBC 9.23.13.
This event is held in collaboration with the Building and Safety Standards Branch, Canadian Wood Council, BOABC, CHBA BC, AIBC, ASTTBC and new home warranty providers.
