SUMMARY:Vancouver Luncheon Seminar: Dynamic Glass Envelope Systems: What\, Why and How
DESCRIPTION:About the Presenter:\n \nBrodie Albright\, National Account Executive\, Canada\nView\, Inc. \nBrodie Albright has been working in the clean tech sector for more than 15 years and contributed to the installation of the very first electrochromic window in Canada. Brodie joined View in 2018\, to build View’s Canadian team and business growth\, overseeing sales\, project execution\, hardware and software development\, and education of the consultant ecosystem. Prior to View\, Brodie worked 8 years at SWITCH Materials\, a BC-based startup created to commercialize a novel hybrid photochromic-electrochromic technology developed at Simon Fraser University’s 4D Materials Laboratory into smart windows. During his time at SWITCH\, Brodie filled numerous roles including project management\, product management and development\, and product marketing. In 2011 Brodie and his team built and installed the first electrochromic window in Canada. Following this\, SWITCH pivoted markets\, and Brodie had the opportunity to work with major automotive OEMs\, including Volkswagen Group\, General Motors\, Ford\, and Tesla on a prototype development program using SWITCH’s electrochromic technology. Brodie and his Canadian team have 9 dynamic glass projects currently under construction and over 40 completed projects across the country. \n  \nAbout the Topic: Dynamic Glass Envelope Systems: What\, Why and How\nDynamic glass is not simply a type of window\, it is a technology system. This presentation will describe the components that make up a dynamic glass system\, and how the use of dynamic glass improves the health\, wellness and sustainability of different building types. The presentation will also provide deep-dive examples of how dynamic glass can be custom programmed for different building types\, and advice for envelope consultants and contractors on how to specify and tender a dynamic glass solution. The presentation material will include examples from commercial office\, multi-family residential\, hospitality\, health care\, education\, and aerospace projects. \n  \nREGISTRATION:\nPlease Note: All WALK-UPS (non pre-registered attendees) must pay a blanket price of $65.00\, including Students and Members. \nEducation Credits: \nThis luncheon seminar qualifies for 1.0 AIBC Core Learning Unit.
