Wilf has been a long term member of ASHRAE\, past VP of the Mechanical Contractors Association and holds multiple mechanical trade certifications.\nCarol Frketich is CMHC’s spokesperson on the B.C. economy\, providing commentary on labour market and economic trends and their impact on housing markets across the province. Carol is a member of the Association of Professional Economists of British Columbia.\nAndrew Pape-Salmon is a Senior Energy Specialist with RDH Building Engineering Ltd. with expertise in energy efficiency and greenhouse gas management for buildings and communities\, including engineering\, economics\, and government policy. He is a Director with BCBEC and the Canadian Energy Efficiency Alliance.\n\n\n\n  \nAbout the Topic: \nWhat is driving investment in construction for new and existing buildings on Vancouver Island? This includes equipment and space upgrades\, existing building renewals\, re-development and new construction. Four perspectives will be provided – equipment supplier\, construction industry representative\, government and building envelope professionals. Specific market drivers will be highlighted\, including macro-economic factors\, business practices in the new economy\, the changing face of construction\, codes and standards and other regulations and investment by the private and public sectors. These translate to housing starts\, non-residential construction\, building stock renewal\, equipment replacement\, tenant improvements and other activities.
