DESCRIPTION:Presenter: Jim Bagley\, MCIOB\, Levelton Consultants Ltd. \nAbout the Presenter: \nJim Bagley is a Senior Project Manager with Levelton Consultants Ltd specialising in hazardous materials services. Jim has extensive experience assessing and managing hazardous materials in a wide range of contexts from single family residences to major infrastructure projects. \nAbout the topic: \nWorksafeBC regulations require that before any demolition or maintenance work is conducted\, a qualified person must inspect the site and identify any Hazardous Building Materials (HBM) and safely contain or remove all HBMs potentially impacted by the work. TDG regulations and BC Environmental regulations further govern the transport and disposal of hazardous materials. The presenter will provide an overview of hazardous materials in buildings\, which will include: Asbestos\, Lead\, PCB’s\, Mercury\, Ozone Depleting Substances\, Mould and Microbial Growth and Crystalline Silica.
