SUMMARY:2019 Buildings XIV International Conference
DESCRIPTION:Inaugurated in 1979\, the “Buildings Conference” takes place every three years allowing time to develop new research and technology applications and to document the findings. Attendance is international and draws heavily on the advanced technical knowledge of all our global experts. The “Buildings Conference” presents a great opportunity for product manufacturers\, research groups\, technical advisors\, builders\, designers and other consultants to discuss their work achievements\, interest and awareness of buildings issues\, and provides solutions to some of our major building problems.\n \n2019 Buildings XIV International Conference Flyer\n \n2019 Buildings XIV International Conference Website\n \n \nCALL FOR ABSTRACTS\nA written paper will be required for all presentations and the conference will present two tracks. The two tracks will focus on Principles (Devoted to Research and Development) and Practices (Focus on Practical Applications and Case Studies).\n \nPapers should focus on the development of high impact technologies and processes to be life cycle cost effective\, and reduce energy use and environmental consequences. Papers should demonstrate how their topics\, on the thermal and moisture performance of the exterior envelope of whole buildings\, will lead to high performance buildings. Papers on case studies need to be unique and new. Papers in the Practices Track should provide technologies ready for implementation; those in the Principles Track shall show the promise of short to mid-term adoption.\n \nSuggested Paper and Presentation Topics \nAdvanced Construction Practices\nAir barriers and Air Leakage\nBasements/Below-Grade Construction\nBuilding Envelope Commissioning\nBuilding Envelope Integrated Technologies\nBuilding Retrofit\nBuilding Sustainability and Resilience\nCost Optimization\nDaylighting\nDesign Tools\nDynamic and High-R windows\nEnvelope Related Indoor Environment\nFenestration and Window Attachments\nHeritage/Historic Buildings\nHVAC-Envelope Integration\nInnovative Materials and Systems\nInsulation\nLow Energy Buildings\nMoisture Management\, Durability and Service Life\nMonitoring\, Modeling\, and Simulation\nOffsite manufacturing\nResidential Single and Multi-Family Applications\nRoofs\, Attics\, and Walls\nStandards\, Codes\, Guidelines & Test Procedure Development\nWeatherization\n \nAbstracts are due October 26\, 2018.
